Tax Collector’s Office has three locations where payments may be made weekdays, and a special date has been scheduled in North Port; online option also available
Sarasota County Tax Collector Barbara Ford-Coates is reminding all business owners that Friday, Sept. 30, is the deadline to pay the 2016-17 Sarasota County Business Tax. After that date, a news release points out, the business tax will be delinquent, and additional money will be due.
The quickest and easiest way to pay is at http://www.SarasotaTaxCollector.com, the release adds.
“After the online payment is complete, a Business Tax receipt can be printed immediately,” Ford-Coates advises in the release. Payments also may be made by mail or in person at any Tax Collector Office Service Center, Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Those centers are as follows:
- Downtown Sarasota, located at 101 S. Washington Blvd. (entrance on Adams Lane).
- South Sarasota, located at 8484 S. Tamiami Trail.
- Venice, located at 4000 S. Tamiami Trail.
In North Port, payments may be made at North Port City Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the release points out.
Any business that has not received a renewal notice, or any new business that has not registered, should contact the Tax Collector’s Office immediately at 861-8300, Option 3, or email Info@SarasotaTaxCollector.com, the release stresses. Businesses in the cities of Sarasota, Venice and North Port and those in the town of Longboat Key may also be required to pay a city business tax, the release notes.
