Demings and three candidates for governor to be speakers during Sarasota County Democratic Party’s annual Kennedy-King Dinner

April 3 event to be held at Hyatt Regency in Sarasota

U.S. Rep. Val Demings, an Orlando Democrat, will be the keynote speaker during the Sarasota County Democratic Party’s annual Kennedy-King Dinner next month, JoAnne DeVries, chair of the county Democratic Party, has announced.

The event will be held from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, at the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota, a news release says. The hotel is located at 1000 Boulevard of the Arts, in downtown Sarasota. The cost is $150 per person, the release adds.

Demings also will receive the Champion Award “for her tireless efforts to improve public safety, civil rights and the opportunity to achieve the American Dream for all Americans,” the release adds.

Along with Demings’ remarks, attendees will hear comments from the three Democratic gubernatorial candidates, the release notes: U.S. Rep Charlie Crist, Florida Commissioner of Agriculture and Consumer Services Nikki Fried, and state Sen. Annette Taddeo, D-Miami.
