The Kettle of Fish will take the stage on the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall bayside lawn in Sarasota on Friday, July 21, for the second Friday Fest of the summer, the Van Wezel has announced.

The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m., a news release says.

Known for their interpretations of blues, soul and funk — with the energy of rock ’n’ roll, the release emphasizes — Kettle of Fish “will have the fans on their feet and dancing the night away. “The band is a real crowd-pleaser with its wide appeal of genres and cover songs that could include hits from Jimi Hendrix, Otis Redding and Hank Williams Jr.,” the release notes. “Keeping it creative, the band also plays originals written primarily by guitarist and vocalist Dana Lawrence,” the release says.

Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs and take in the music along with the Sarasota sunset. Food and beverages will be available from local vendors, the release adds. Friday Fest ’17 will take place rain or shine, the release points out. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors to the Grand Foyer or to the main stage.

Outside food and drinks, along with coolers and large umbrellas, are prohibited, the release adds.
