More detours announced for next week as work continues on new diverging diamond involving Clark Road and I-75

Overnight work on ramps scheduled Monday, Sept. 9, through early hours of Friday, Sept. 13

Although the implementation of the new diverging diamond interchange involving Clark Road/State Road 72 and Interstate 75 in Sarasota was implemented the first weekend in June, final elements of the project still are underway.

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) has announced the following advisories for next week:

  • From 11 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, until 4:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, crews will close the I-75 southbound off-ramp to State Road 72/Clark Road. Motorists are advised to follow posted detours or identify alternate routes.
  • From 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, until 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, crews will close S.R. 72/Clark Road westbound between Approach Road and I-75.
  • From 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11, to 5 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, crews will close S.R. 72/Clark Road eastbound between I-75 and Approach Road.
  • From 11 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, until 5 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, crews will close S.R. 72/Clark Road eastbound and westbound between Gantt Road and I-75.
