On Jan. 30, the nonprofit Friends of the Osprey Junction Trailhead will start offering free pedicab rides on The Legacy Trail every Thursday at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon, the organization has announced.

The Osprey Junction Trailhead is located at 939 E. Bay St. in Osprey.

Weekly rides will continue through April 30, a news release says. To sign up for a ride, go to ojtfriends.com, click on “Events” and then “click on the date and time you want to ride,” the release adds.

The Pedicab Ride Program is funded by a grant from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation and operated by Friends of Osprey Junction Trailhead in partnership with Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources, the release notes.

The Friends group also operates a visitor center at Osprey Junction Trailhead. The park itself is open from 6 a.m. to sunset, the county website notes.
