Polling location changes announced for Aug. 23 Primary

Voters in Precincts 205, 207, 211 and 213 affected

Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner has announced two changes in Election Day polling locations, pursuant to Section 101.71 of the Florida Statutes, his office has announced.

Voters who reside in Precincts 205 and 207 — who previously voted in the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium — will vote at the following site: McCown Towers, located at 1300 Boulevard of the Arts, Sarasota, FL 34236.

Voters who reside in Precincts 211 and 213 — who were temporarily relocated for the March 8 elections — will return to their original polling location: St. Armands Key Lutheran Church, located at 40 N. Adams Drive, Sarasota, FL 34236.

These changes are in effect as of the Aug. 23, Primary Election, a news release points out.

“Turner has mailed new Voter Information Cards to all affected voters to notify them of their polling place changes,” the release explains. In addition, information about these changes is included in sample ballots that were mailed recently to voters who have not requested vote-by-mail ballots for the Aug. 23 Primary Election, the release says. Notices also will be posted at the former polling places on Election Day, the release adds.

All polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, the release points out. Voters must vote in their assigned polling places on Election Day, the release says, and they must present current and valid photo and signature ID prior to voting.
