Supervisor of elections sets early voting dates/times/locations for Aug. 23 Primary Election

Early voting to begin on Aug. 13 and run through Aug. 21

Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner has designated six early voting locations, including the three elections offices — in Sarasota, Venice and North Port — for the Aug. 23, 2022 Primary Election, Turner announced this week.

Any voter may choose to vote early, beginning Saturday, Aug. 13, and continuing through Sunday, Aug. 21, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily at any one of the locations listed below, a news release points out:

  • Elections office in the Sarasota County Terrace Building, located at 2001 Adams Lane in downtown Sarasota.
  • Elections office in Room 114 of the R.L. Anderson Building, standing at 4000 Tamiami Trail S. in Venice.
  • Elections office in Biscayne Plaza, located at 13640 Tamiami Trail in North Port.
  • Betty J. Johnson North Sarasota Public Library, located at 2801 Newtown Boulevard in Sarasota.
  • Fruitville Public Library, located at 100 Apex Road in Sarasota.
  • The Devyn Event Center, located at 7113 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.

Florida law requires voters to present current and valid photo and signature identification prior to voting. Acceptable IDs are the following, the release adds with emphasis:

  • Florida driver’s license.
  • Florida ID card issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
  • U.S. passport.
  • Debit or credit card.
  • Military ID.
  • Student ID.
  • Retirement center ID.
  • Neighborhood association ID.
  • Public assistance ID.
  • Veteran health ID issued by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • License to carry a concealed weapon pursuant to Section 790.06 of the Florida Statutes.
  • Employee ID issued by any branch, department, or agency of the federal government or any state, county or municipality.
