Individuals may find out how they can put their time and talents to good use when the staff of Selby Public Library in downtown Sarasota hosts a Community Volunteer Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, Sarasota County staff has announced.

Representatives of more than 20 local nonprofit organizations will be present to recruit volunteers, a news release says. Residents may learn about the organizations and the volunteer opportunities they offer; those range form assisting with one-day events and family functions to ongoing positions, the release adds.

Among the organizations scheduled to participate in the fair are All Faiths Food Bank, Safe Place Rape and Crisis Center (SPARCC), the Ringling Museum, Selby Gardens, the Senior Friendship Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Sun Coast, the release notes.

“The theme for Sarasota County Libraries’ summer learning program this year is Build a Better World, and we are honored to host these great organizations so community members can learn how they can help build a better world through volunteering,” said Sarasota County Libraries and Historical Resources Director Sarabeth Kalajian in the release.

Selby Public Library is located at 1331 First St. in Sarasota.
