Seven new officers join Sarasota Police Department

On Sept. 19, Sarasota Police Chief Rex Troche conducted a swearing-in ceremony for seven new officers, the agency has announced.

The event was held in the Second Floor Community Room within the headquarters of the Sarasota Police Department, which stands 2099 Adams Lane in downtown Sarasota, a news release says.

The following officers joined the Sarasota Police Department with second-class probationary status, the release adds: Macy Clontz, Matthew Friedrich, Kaitlyn Marston, Tim Malak, Michal Banasiak, Maria Quinones and Brian Slaughter Jr.

The new officers will be engaged in the agency’s Field Training Program for several months, working with training officers, the release points out.
