Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner has announced that he once again is challenging middle school and high school students to design a unique “I Voted” sticker for Sarasota County voters.

“We first launched the ‘I Voted’ sticker contest in 2023, leading up to the 2024 General Election,” Turner said in a news release. “The response to that contest was amazing — and the winning entry was so impressive — that we’re making it a regular occurrence for every General Election cycle,” he added in the release.

As of Oct. 1, Sarasota County middle and high school students have had “the opportunity to submit artwork that could become the next ‘I Voted’ sticker for the county,” the release points out.

“In 2026, we will have another busy year with possible elections in March and the primary and general in August and November,” Turner continued in the release. “The ‘I Voted’ sticker contest is a fun opportunity to involve students in the elections process and to help set them up for civic participation in adulthood,” he added.

The winning design, which will be announced in the spring of 2026, will be used as the official “I Voted” sticker given to voters during the November 2026 Gubernatorial Election, the release notes. The winning design also will be displayed at the elections offices in Sarasota, Venice and North Port, the release continues, and it will be used “in outreach efforts encouraging community members to vote.”

To be eligible, contest entrants must be enrolled in a middle or high school located in Sarasota County. Submitted designs must not advocate for a specific party, candidate or issue, the release points out.

The entry deadline is Jan. 30, 2026. Visit SarasotaVotes.gov/sticker-contest for a complete list of contest rules and an entry form.
