Proceeds to support Youth Opera and educational programming
“Area residents are invited to experience the culinary delights of Sarasota while supporting and celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Sarasota Youth Opera,” Sarasota Opera has announced.
“Local restaurants will serve up tasty samples of food and wine at Sarasota Opera’s Annual Food and Wine Festival,” which will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Opera House in downtown Sarasota, a news release explains.
Additionally, the Youth Opera chorus and Sarasota Opera artists will perform during the festival, the release notes, and drawings will be held throughout the afternoon “for prizes and other fun activities
“Tickets are $75 per person for general admission and are available for purchase in advance at www.sarasotaopera.org/foodandwinefest”; at the Sarasota Opera box office, which stands at 61 N. Pineapple Ave.; or by calling 941-328-1300. A limited number of tickets also will be available at the door for $85, the release notes.
All proceeds will go “to support the Youth Opera & Education programming,” the release points out.
The participating restaurants will be East West Catering, EVOQ – Westin, Five-O Donuts, Happy Soul, Jack Dusty, Mattison’s, Marcel, Michael’s On East, Molly’s Pub, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Pier 22/Grove, Rose & Ivy, Sage Restaurant, Selva Grill and Wolfie’s Delicatessen, the release says.
“Libation Tastings” will be provided by 99 Bottles, Gold Coast and Nautical Gin, the release adds.
