Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is reminding voters that the deadline to request a vote-by-mail ballot to be mailed to a voter is Thursday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m.

“To date, more than 87,000 vote-by-mail ballots have been mailed to Sarasota County voters” for the Nov. 3 General Election, a news release says. Of the ballots sent, more than 24,000 already have been returned, the release notes.

“If you want to vote by mail but haven’t submitted a request yet, you have 10 days remaining to get us your request,” Turner pointed out in the release. “We must receive it by the 5 p.m. deadline on Thursday, Oct. 22,” he stressed.

Voters may submit a vote-by-mail request in the following ways:

“Voting by mail is one of the three ways to vote in Florida,” Turner said in the release. “If you want to vote by mail for the Nov. 3 General Election, the first step is to submit your request. But don’t wait until the last minute.”
