UF/IFAS Extension office reopens at Twin Lakes Park

Those wishing to talk with staff encouraged to make appointments

The University of Florida/Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) Extension Sarasota County office reopened for business on June 15, with office hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, the office has announced.

Visitors are encouraged to schedule appointments for pest/plant help, soil analyses and other general services, since staffing will be limited initially, a news release explains. “Please contact the office at 941-861-5000 or sarasota@ifas.ufl.edu for appointments or further information,” the release says.

Staff remains available to serve the public by phone, at 941-861-5000, and email to sarasota@ifas.ufl.edu. Additionally, one can find staff/program contact information at sarasota.ifas.ufl.edu/staff, and the range of online events is available at ufsarasotaext.eventbrite.com.

“When visiting,” the release adds, “please continue to practice safe social distancing, keeping a 6-foot distance when around others. Visitors are highly encouraged to wear a mask.”

The UF/IFAS office is located at Twin Lakes Park, which stands at 6700 Clark Road in Sarasota.
