The Phase II reopening of City of Sarasota buildings began on June 15, with staff members working on a by-appointment-only basis, so they can regulate the number of people within an office and maintain social distancing, the city announced.

“Nearly all city functions have continued throughout the pandemic, from public safety to solid waste collection to building inspections, with most public-staff interaction limited to email, phone calls or social distancing on a remote work site,” a news release explains.

“A helpful department and staff directory” is available on the city website — https://www.sarasotafl.gov/government/staff-directory — for people who would like to schedule appointments, the release says.
In other COVID-19 news, the release notes, the popular Skate Park at Payne Park reopened to the public on Tuesday, June 16. “Hours of operation will be 7 a.m. to dusk daily,” the release adds.
