Detectives with the Sarasota Police Department are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying three individuals who were seen inside the City of Sarasota’s State Street parking garage on Jan. 31, the department has announced.

The garage is located at 1538 State St. in downtown Sarasota.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 31, the three individuals were seen exiting an elevator in the parking garage, a news release says. After the persons left, someone discovered that a control panel in the garage had sustained $18,000 in damages, the release adds.

Photos were shared on the Sarasota Police Department’s social media pages in February in an effort to identify the three individuals, the release notes, but that initiative was unsuccessful.

Photos taken by cameras in the garage show a man leaving the area in a Jeep, the release says. Additionally, a dog is seen with the three individuals.

“Detectives are not saying the three people are suspects at this time” but would like to speak with them in regard to the investigation, the release points out, as this case remains under investigation.
