Public invited to donate unwrapped toys for children ages 12 and younger
The Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department staff is inviting children ages 12 and younger — and their families — to the free Breakfast with Santa event, which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 16, at both Laurel Park and Newtown Estates Park.
“Enjoy breakfast, holiday music, and a visit by Santa,” a news release says.
“Pre-registration is required to attend this event,” the release notes. Register before Friday, Dec. 8, or until the event is full, the release adds.
Laurel Park is located at 509 Collins Road in Nokomis, the release adds, while Newtown Estates Park is located at 2800 Newtown Blvd. in Sarasota.
Unwrapped toy donations for children ages 12 and younger are being accepted through Monday, Dec. 11, at the following Sarasota County parks, events, fire stations and libraries throughout the county, the release says:
