Lobeck to discuss recent and anticipated legislation regarding condominiums in Feb. 21 remarks to Siesta Key Condominium Council members

Meeting set for 3 p.m. at Siesta Key Chapel

The Siesta Key Condominium Council (SKCC) will conduct an in-person meeting for members at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Siesta Key Chapel, the organization’s leaders have announced.

The church stands at 4615 Gleason Ave., on the northern part of Siesta Key.

The primary speaker will be attorney Dan Lobeck of the Sarasota firm Lobeck and Hanson, a news release says. Lobeck, who has decades of expertise in condominium law, will discuss the 2022 Florida Legislature’s actions regarding condominiums, along with relevant bills expected to be addressed during the session that will begin in early March, the release adds.

Among Lobeck’s topics will be the recent state law requiring periodic engineering inspections of complexes and repairs indicated by the resulting reports, as well as the state mandate for sufficient reserves to cover the expense of those repairs.

A question-and-answer session with Lobeck will follow his remarks.

Among other business, SKCC Director Ginger Spencer will provide an  update on the organization’s membership statistics and dues, the release notes.
