The staff of CoolToday Park, the Spring Training Home of the Atlanta Braves, near Venice and North Port, has announced plans for a World Champions Welcome Weekend (WCWW), slated for Feb. 19-20.

“This exciting event will celebrate the Braves’ World Series win as they return to North Port for the 2022 Spring Training season,” a news release says.

The celebration will include various free activities for the whole family from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day, followed by a ticketed concert each evening, the release points out. “The activities will take place on the plaza out front as well as inside the stadium,” the release adds. Among the plans are the following:

  • A display of the World Series trophy.
  • Budweiser Clydesdales parade and photo opportunity.
  • Autographs to be available from Braves legends.
  • First look at spring merchandise.
  • Wellen Park Fun Zone with competitive speed pitch.
  • iHeartMedia Scavenger Hunt.
  • City of North Port’s Braves Bash with inflatables and DJ.

“All concession stands will be open, serving up the best in ballpark fare and craft beer,” the release says. The Superior Pools Tomahawk Tiki Bar & Grill also will be open, serving drinks only, the release notes.

The night of Saturday, Feb. 19, “the B Street Band will grace the stage” with its “Longest Running Tribute to the Boss, Bruce Springsteen,” the release adds. The gates will open at 5 p.m., with a 7 p.m. show time.

On Sunday, Feb. 20, “Nashville to North Port country superstar John Stone” will take the stage at 5 p.m., with gates opening two hours earlier, at 3 p.m., the release points out.

Tickets to each concert are $18; a bundle is available for $30, which includes a general admission ticket to both nights’ events, the release says. A VIP option is also available: four seats and four beverages for $90.

“All concert tickets are available on ticketmaster.com,” the release notes
