Early voting for Aug. 28 primary election to end Saturday, Aug. 25, supervisor of elections reminds citizens

Five locations open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day

Early voting for the Aug. 28 Primary election will end Saturday, Aug. 25, Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner is reminding voters.

Eligible voters may cast their ballots between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily, through Aug. 25, at any of the following five locations, Turner said in a news release:

  • Elections office in the Sarasota County Terrace Building, located at 2001 Adams Lane in downtown Sarasota.
  • Elections office in Biscayne Plaza, located at 13640 Tamiami Trail in North Port.
  • Elections office in the R.L. Anderson Administration Building, located at 4000 Tamiami Trail S. in Venice.
  • North Sarasota Library, located at 2801 Newtown Blvd. in Sarasota.
  • Westfield Sarasota Square Mall, located at 8201 S Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.

Florida law requires a voter to present current and valid photo and signature ID upon entering the polling location and prior to voting, the release stresses. A voter who appears at a polling location without photo and signature ID will be allowed to vote a provisional ballot.

On Election Day, Tuesday, Aug. 28, voters must vote in the precincts in which they reside, the release points out. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
