The Phillippi Farmhouse Market has reopened at Phillippi Estate Park for the 11th year, Sarasota County has announced.

Located at 5500 S. Tamiami Trail in Sarasota, the market is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each Wednesday through April, a county news release notes.

The market is hosted through a partnership between the Sarasota County Parks, Recreation and Natural Resources Department and the Friends of Sarasota County Parks, the release explains. “Grace and Fred Whitehouse, volunteers through Friends of Sarasota County Parks, lead the market,” the release adds.

The Phillippi Farmhouse Market follows the agricultural calendar, as the growing season in Southwest Florida produces fruits and vegetables throughout the months the market is held, the release explains. “The market supports the local economy and promotes Sarasota County’s strategic plan of supporting workforce development,” the release says.

“The Phillippi Farmhouse Market is the area’s only mid-week market,” featuring local agriculture, including a USDA-certified organic grower; plant, herb and floral vendors; and a variety of food trucks, the release adds. The market also features local raw honey, several bakeries, local artisans with handcrafted items, a wellness vendor and a dog-washing station, along with local musicians, the release notes.

The Phillippi Farmhouse Market is accessible for persons under the guidelines of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), it has ample free parking and it offers “fun for the whole family,” the release says.
