Siesta Fiesta typically is the final big event of the tourist season each year on Siesta Key, taking place after Easter.

This year, however, the fine arts and crafts show has been scheduled for Oct. 24-25 in Siesta Village.

With non-essential businesses and activities shut down in the state and Sarasota County during April, as a result of the novel coronavirus pandemic, leaders of the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce were able to postpone Siesta Fiesta to the fall.

The 42nd annual event, which features free admission, will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Masks will be required, the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce has announced, except for children age 2 and younger.

Art vendors will have booths set up on Ocean Boulevard from Canal Road to Beach Road, a Siesta Chamber email points out. None of Beach Road will be closed.

All booths will be spaced 6 feet apart, the email says, and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines will be in effect. The number of visitors attending at any given time will be regulated, the email points out. Persons interested in attending the show are encouraged to click here to reserve their time slots and avoid the line, the email adds.

Further, the email says, social distancing will be required between artists and patrons. Only two individuals or one family group will be permitted in any booth at one time.
