On Monday, Nov. 12, Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner will discuss the election results during the monthly meeting of the Sarasota County Council of Neighborhood Associations (CONA), the nonprofit has announced.

“This year marks his first general election as supervisor,” a news release says, “and we have seen his efforts to keep the voters informed. He has agreed to begin presenting a final analysis of our elections to our members in order to make this civic process clearer to them and the public,” the release adds. “He will reveal the details regarding the demographics of the turnout and changes in the methods we used to vote,” the release says. “Seeing how the turnout differed from precinct to precinct, by age groups, voting method, and by political registration is fascinating and reveals much about our county and our neighborhoods,” the release points out. “Get the analysis from the data source pundits use and have him answer your questions about our elections.”

Additionally, if some of the changes proposed for citizen-initiated petition drives win approval this week, the CONA meeting will include a discussion of the anticipated effects on the election process, the release notes.

Members of the public are welcome, CONA’s leaders point out.

The Nov. 12 meeting will open with brief neighborhood updates about issues CONA members have been following, the release adds, with speakers Chris Bales on Arbor Lake Preserve, Ben Cannon on the Bath and Racquet Club, Sura Kochman on Siesta Promenade and Tom Matrullo on the Celery Fields.

A social period will begin at 6:30 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 7 p.m., the release points out. CONA holds its free sessionsat the Sarasota Garden Club, which is located at 1131 Boulevard of the Arts in Sarasota. The building is at the intersection of Tamiami Trail, just south of the Municipal Auditorium. The parking area and the entrance are reached from Van Wezel Way.
